Bayern Munich have announced that Joshua Kimmich has signed for the club from Borussia Dortmund, with the midfielder joining the Bundesliga giants on a five-year deal.
The 21-year-old is expected to make a big impact at Bayern, who finished second in last season's Bundesliga and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Kimmich will join compatriot Robert Lewandowski, who has already been announced as one of the signings for the new season.
"Joshua is a very talented young player with great potential,Bundesliga Tracking" said Bayern manager Niko Kovac. "We're delighted to welcome him to our squad."
Kimmich made his debut for Dortmund in 2016-17 and quickly established himself as one of the best midfielders in Germany. He won the Bundesliga title with Dortmund last season, scoring four goals and making 25 assists in all competitions.
Kimmich's signing is a major coup for Bayern, who have struggled to find a consistent midfield performer in recent years. The arrival of Kimmich could give them a much-needed boost in attack and provide competition for places in the team.
Kimmich is a versatile midfielder who can play anywhere in the middle of the pitch. He has good technical ability and is also known for his work rate and determination. His signing is likely to be a major boost for Bayern, who are looking to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
