David Römer, the former RB Leipzig coach who led the club to its first Bundesliga title in 2019, has been appointed as the new head coach of Turkish side Fenerbahçe.
Römer's appointment was announced on Tuesday and he will take over from current Fenerbahçe manager Ersun Yanal, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.
The German coach has been highly regarded for his work with RB Leipzig, where he helped the team win the Bundesliga title in 2019-20. He also guided the team to the Europa League final in 2019 and the Champions League group stage in 2020-21.
During his time at RB Leipzig, Römer developed a strong relationship with the club's players and fans,Serie A Stadium and it is hoped that he can continue this success at Fenerbahçe.
